If your device is locked to the Simple Mobile network and you want to know if the device has met the unlock requirements, this post is for you.
Simple Mobile will automatically unlock for free any device locked to the network that meets the unlock policy requirements.
That doesn’t mean you can’t unlock the device without meeting the unlock requirement. But the network will require you to pay an unlock fee which can be as high as $300.
One of the main requirements to unlock a Simply Mobile phone for free is that the device and account linked to it must be in good standing in the network.
This post takes you through all you need to know about the Simple Mobile unlock policy. Also, you will learn some of the exceptions to the unlocking policy and how to take advantage of it without paying an unlocking fee.
Understanding Simple Mobile Unlock Policy
Any phone or device locked to the Simple Mobile network must meet the unlocking requirements. The network automatically unlocks devices that meet these requirements.
Note that the device has to meet ALL the unlock requirements and not just one.
Simply Mobile Unlock Policy For Apple Phones
These are the requirements to unlock an Apple Phone locked to the Simple Mobile network:
. The device has to be in good working condition.
. If you activate your device on the network after November 23, 2021, it must be active for at least 60 days to qualify for free unlock.
On the other hand, if you activate the device before November 23, 2023, it must be active for at least 12 months to qualify for free unlock.
. The device must not be linked to any fraudulent activity.
. The device must not be reported as stolen or lost at any point.
Simply Mobile Unlock Policy For Android Phones
These are the requirements to unlock an Apple Phone locked to the Simple Mobile network:
. If you activate your device on the network after November 23, 2021, it must be active for at least 60 days to qualify for free unlock.
On the other hand, if you activate the device before November 23, 2023, it must be active for at least 12 months to qualify for free unlock.
. The device has to be in good working condition.
. The device must not be linked to any fraudulent activity.
. The device must not be reported as stolen or lost at any point.
Simple Mobile 60 Days Unlock Period
Before November 21, 2021, the Simple Mobile unlock policy required devices to be active for 12 months to qualify for free unlock.
The new requirement is just 60 days. You may be wondering why? The reason is that Simple Mobile, which is a subsidiary of Tracfone, was acquired by Verizon. Thus, the Verizon unlock policy, which is 60 days now applies to Simple Mobile.
Simple Mobile Unlock Policy For Military Personnel
If you are deployed military personnel, Simply Mobile makes an exception for you.
The network will unlock your device without meeting the unlock requirements as long as you meet the following requirements below:
. The device must be in good standing in the network in terms of paying bills when due.
. The device must not be linked to any fraudulent activity.
. You must be deployed as military personnel.
If you meet these three requirements, contact Simple Mobile customer support and request an exception to unlock your device. You have to upload a copy of your deployment papers as proof.
What Happens After Your Device Meets The Simple Mobile Unlock Requirements?
For Apple phone users, the network will automatically unlock your device once it meets the unlock requirements.
For Android and other non-Apple phone users, you have to request the unlock code. The network will send you an unlock code with a guide to unlock the device.
