If your TruConnect SIM Card stops working or won’t activate, this post is for you.
There are several reasons why a TruConnect SIM card won’t work. One of the reasons may be using the SIM card on a phone locked to another network.
One quick tip to fix the issue is to ensure that the phone you are trying to use the TruConnect SIM is not locked to another network.
Also, check the SIM card for cracks and scratches. This could be a sign that the SIM card itself is damaged.
Above is a summary of some of the tips to fix the issue. Continue reading to get a breakdown of the issues and other tips to fix your TruConnect SIM card.
Why TruConnect SIM Card Is Not Working?
As mentioned, there are several reasons why a TruConnect SIM would stop working. Here is a breakdown of some of the reasons:
.Device Locked To Another Network
This won’t be an issue if you use a TruConnect phone. But if you are bringing your phone to the network, TruConnect SIM won’t work on the phone if it’s locked to another network.
. SIM Card Placement Issue
One other reason why the TruConnect SIM card won’t work could be because of SIM card placement. If you don’t get the SIM card placement order, the SIM won’t work on the device. More on this later.
. Locked Truconnect SIM Card
It could be that the Truconnect SIM card is locked. There are instances where the network can lock a SIM card. If this is the issue, you need to first unlock the SIM.
. Glitch On Phone
Finally, the issue may be from the phone itself. For instance, a glitch on the device can affect the network. Another reason may be that the firmware on the phone is outdated. That too can affect the SIM card over time.
Tips To Fix TruConnect SIM Card Issue
At this point, you know some of the possible reasons why your TruConnect SIM card isn’t working. Let’s check out some troubleshooting tips to fix the issue.
. Restart Phone
Before trying any complicated troubleshooting tips, first restart your phone. If it’s a glitch, restarting your phone will likely fix the issue in no time.
Turn off your phone, wait for 60 seconds, and restart the phone. Check to see if the SIM card is connected to the network. If not, try any of the tips below to fix the issue.
. Unlock Phone
If your phone is locked to another network, contact the network to unlock the phone. First, you have to check for and ensure the device meets the free unlock requirements. See this post on the unlock requirements for most networks.
. Confirm Phone Compatibility
Another thing most people forget to check before switching SIM Cards to a new phone is compatibility. TruConnect SIM card is not compatible with all phones. The SIM card won’t work unless it is compatible with the phone. We will update this post soon with a list of Truconnect-compatible phones.
. Confirm SIM Card Placement
Remove the SIM card from the SIM tray and check the placement. Before replacing the SIM card, check for scratches and cracks on it.
Visible cracks on the SIM card could mean that the SIM is damaged. If that is the case, you have to order a replacement SIM card on the TruConnect site.
If there are no cracks or scratches on the SIM, clean the SIM with a small clean cloth.
While placing the SIM card, ensure that the SIM is placed in sync with the SIM connector. That is the chip on the SIM card.
. Unlock SIM Card
If a TruConnect SIM card is locked, it can only work on a TruConnect phone. You have to unlock the SIM Card to use it on another phone.
First, you have to confirm that the SIM card is locked. To do this, try using the SIM card on another unlocked phone. If it doesn’t work, it means that the SIM card may be locked.
To unlock contact TruConnect customer support at 1-877-430-2355 and request to unlock your SIM card.
Provide the support person with your full name, TruConnect phone number TruConnect account number, and PIN.
You will receive the unlock code as an SMS on your device. Dial 6114936#*, and enter the unlock code to complete the process.
. Update Phone Firmware
Also, you need to update the firmware version on your phone. To do this, go to Settings> About Phone> Updates> Download and Install. After the firmware update, restart your device.
. Contact TruConnect Customer Support
If none of these options has worked so far the final option is to contact TruConnect customer support. Call customer support at 1-877-430-2355 for more information on what to do next.
