Last Updated on December 8, 2024 by Ron D. Morgan

If you want to know if the Cricket Wireless network supports Wi-Fi calling. The quick answer is, yes. Cricket Wireless is one of the many networks that support Wi-Fi calling.

But there is a catch. If you are bringing your phone to the network, there is a cap on the network placed on Wi-Fi calling. Cricket Wireless does not allow Wi-Fi calling on Android phones if you are bringing your phone to the network.

This post will guide you on all you need to know about using Wi-Fi calling features on the Cricket Wireless network. Also, you will learn how to activate the Wi-Fi calling on both iPhone and Android Phones.

How Does Cricket Wi-Fi Calling Work?

How Wi-Fi calling works is that you connect your device to a Wi-Fi or wireless network. With that, you can make calls and send texts via the wireless network.

It comes in handy when the mobile network coverage is poor in a location. Wireless calling is a handy alternative. Some networks do not support Wi-Fi calling.

But thankfully, Cricket Wireless is one of the networks in the United States that supports it.

Another thing to know about the Wi-Fi calling feature is that your device has to support Wi-Fi calling for you to enjoy it. Some devices do not support wireless calls. So, you have to confirm your device supports it to activate it.

Wi-Fi Calling Not Working On Cricket Wireless

If you have activated the Wi-Fi calling option on your device and it still works, don’t worry. There are some steps you can take to fix the issue. Try any of the troubleshooting tips below to fix the issue:

a. Device Compatibility Issue:

It could be a device compatibility issue. For instance, Cricket Wireless does not support Wi-Fi calling on any Android device you bring to the network. First, confirm that the device supports Wi-Fi calling.

b. Flight Mode Enabled:

The next thing to do is to confirm that the device is not on Airplane or Flight mode. Wi-Fi calling won’t work if your device is in Flight mode.

The Airplane icon will be visible in your device’s top bar if the Flight mode is enabled. Tap on the airplane icon to disable Flight Mode.

c. Connection Issue:

Also, it may be that the device is not connected to the wireless network. Check your device to ensure it is connected to the wireless network.

d. Outdated Firmware:

Also, it could be a software issue. It could be that your device firmware is out of date. If that is the issue, you have to download and install a more recent version of firmware on your device.

To update firmware on an IOS device, go to Settings> General> Software Update> Download Available Software version.
