Is your Logik TV remote not working? No need to panic just yet. There are steps you can take to fix the issue. But first, you have to figure out the problem with the remote to know the best option to fix it.
In summary, if your Logik TV remote stops working, you can fix it by changing the remote batteries. Other options are to power cycle the TV and check for obstructions between the TV and the remote.
This post aims to explain in detail some of the reasons why your Logik remote doesn’t work. In addition, you will learn tips to fix the issue and get your remote working in no time.
Why Does Your Logik TV Remote Not Work?
a. Battery Issues
More likely than not, if there is an issue with your TV remote, it’s a battery issue. It could be that the batteries are damaged or due for a change.
b. Distance From TV
Most Logik TV remotes use infrared tech. So, the remote has to be held close to the TV to work. Another possible reason could be that there is an object blocking the remote from the TV.
c. Blockers
As mentioned earlier, most Logik TV remotes use infrared tech. So there may be infrared blockers close to the remote. These blockers block or interfere with infrared rays. The remote control won’t work if you have any of those nearby.
Troubleshooting Tips To Fix Logik TV Remote
Here are some troubleshooting tips to help you fix your remote control and get it working again:
a. Swap Remote Batteries
Open the battery compartment and check the batteries. Check for wet patches on the batteries or damage to the battery. Those are signs of damage. But wet patch or not, if you’ve not changed the batteries in months, please do well to swap the batteries with a new pair.
b. Check Battery Placement
Again, when replacing the batteries, be mindful of the battery placement. The remote won’t work if the battery placement is wrong. When replacing the batteries, ensure that they match the (-/+) polarity icons on the remote.
c. Get Close
Make sure you are not holding the remote control very far from the TV. Since the remote is infrared-powered, you need to hold it close enough to the TV to work.
d. Remove Infrared Blockers
Check for and remove infrared blockers near the remote control. Examples of blockers include aluminum foils, glasses
e. Switch To Logik Remote App
Do you know that you can turn your smartphone into a mobile remote? Instead of getting a replacement remote, you can use the Logik TV remote mobile app.
Download the app on your smartphone from the device app store. Follow the instructions to program the mobile remote to your TV
f. Get A Universal Remote
Finally, you can get a universal remote as a replacement. I prefer the universal remote instead of a replacement Logik. That is because you can use a universal remote on multiple devices like a soundbar and cable box.
Remember to program the remote to the TV universal remote codes for Logik TV remote code.
g. Check TV Cords
If the TV is not turning on at all, the problem could be from the TV and not the remote control. First, check the power outlet that powers the TV to confirm it’s on and working.
Try plugging another gadget into the outlet. If it works, it means the issue is not from the outlet. If it doesn’t work, try plugging the TV into another outlet.
Also, check the TV cord for cuts and damages. You may need to reach out to a certified technician if the issue is from the TV.
