Getting Your Device Ready For eSIM Activation?
Before you download and activate the eSIM on the device, you have to prepare the device for the process. These are some of the things you have to do to get your device ready for activation:
a. High-Speed Wireless Internet
The entire activation process is handled online. So, you need to connect your device to a wireless network to complete the process. Sadly, you can’t use your mobile data to complete the process. The network has to be high-speed internet to complete the process efficiently.
b. Update Device Firmware
Regardless of if you are downloading the eSIM on a new phone or an existing one you need to update the firmware or software on the phone. Firmware is the software that powers major functionality on a device.
The process of updating firmware on a device depends on the brand in question. Here are the steps to update firmware on major phone brands:
Update Firmware On Google Pixel Phone
. Connect the device to a wireless network.
. Go to Settings and scroll down to System.
. Select System Updates and follow the onscreen instructions to complete the process.
Update Firmware On iPhone
. Connect the device to a wireless network.
. Go to Settings and scroll down to General.
. Tap on Software Update and select Download and Install.
. Enter your Passcode and select Install Now to start the installation process.
. Your device will automatically restart after the process. If it doesn’t, restart the device manually.
Update Firmware On Samsung Phone
. Connect the device to a wireless network.
. Go to Settings and scroll down to About Phone.
. Select System Updates and tap on Install Now.
. On some Samsung phones, you have to select Reboot and Install.
. Wait for the installation process to complete and restart your phone.
How To Activate eSIM On Lycamobile Network?
Here is a step-by-step guide on how to install and download the eSIM on the Lycamobile network:
a. Purchase eSIM
The first step is to purchase the eSIM card. You can buy the eSIM online from the Lycamobile site or at any Lycamobile retail outlet in your location. You will need to choose a plan as you complete the purchase.
b. Activate eSIM
Note that, you can activate your eSIM without choosing a plan. You can buy a plan later.
If you bought your eSIM from a retail outlet, you will receive the eSIM activation card. The activation card comes with a QR code that you will use to activate the eSIM.

. Select SIM Management.
. Tap on Add eSIM and Select eSIM.

. Select Add eSIM.
