Spectrum Mobile eSIM activation process consists of two parts. First, you activate the eSIM online. The second part is to install the eSIM on your device. The process is almost similar for both new and existing customers.
In a nutshell, to activate the eSIM on Spectrum Mobile, use the activate option on either the Spectrum Mobile site or on the mobile app.
This post will serve as a guide to help you activate and install the eSIM on the Spectrum Mobile network.
Before then, let’s take the steps you have to take to get your device ready for eSIM activation on the network.
Prepare Device For eSIm Activation On Spectrum Mobile Network
a. Get A Compatible Device
First, you have to ensure that your device supports eSIM. Most devices don’t have the tech to support eSIM. You can’t install the eSIM on such a device. Check the device manual to confirm if the device can support eSIM.
b. Wireless Internet
Until you complete the activation process, you can’t use the mobile data on your device. Thus, you need wireless internet to complete the activation process. Ensure the network is stable and fast enough to complete the process.
c. Update Device Firmware
One last thing to do before you start the activation process is to update the firmware version on your device. If you’ve updated the firmware in recent times, you can skip this step. If not, you need to update the firmware version on your device.
Follow the steps below on how to update your device:
Update the Software Version On Android
. Connect the device to a wireless network.
. Go to Settings and scroll down to About Phone.
. Tap on Update (Software Update).
. Select Install Now. On some devices, it will show as Reboot and Install.
. Wait for the installation process to complete and restart your phone.
Update Software Version On iPhone
. Connect the device to a wireless network.
. Go to Settings and scroll down to General.
. Tap on Software Update.
. Tap on Download and Install.
. Enter your Passcode and tap on Install Now to start the process.
How To Activate eSIM On Spectrum Mobile Network
As mentioned earlier, the process of activating eSIM on the Spectrum Mobile network involves two steps. First, you activate the eSIM online, after which you install it on your device. Continue before on the steps to complete the process:
Activate eSIM On Spectrum Mobile Online
. Visit the Spectrum Mobile Account Page.
. Enter your Username and Password to sign into your account. If you are a new customer, create an account and sign into your account.
. Select the device you want to activate, and click on Ready To Activate.
. Follow the onscreen instructions to complete the activation process.
. You will see an On Screen Notification with instructions on how to set up the eSIM on your device.
. You will receive an email when the activation process is complete and your device is ready for setup.
Note that, you can complete this process on your Personal Computer or another device.
Activate eSIM On Spectrum Mobile Via Spectrum App
. Connect your device to wireless internet.
. Launch the ‘My Spectrum App’ on your device.
. Enter your login details to sign into the mobile app.
. Tap on the Get Started option on the dashboard.
. Follow the onscreen instructions to activate your line of service.
. Tap on Finish to complete the process of activating your line.
. You will see a notification on the steps to install the eSIM on your device.
How To Install eSIM On Spectrum Mobile Device
Your device will determine how you install eSIM on your device. The process for iPhone 12 and older iPhones are different from iPhone XR and older iPhone.
Install eSIM On Spectrum Mobile (iPhone 12 And Newer Devices)
After activating the eSIM online, you will receive a pop notification on the device you want to activate. Tap on the notification and follow the onscreen instructions to complete the process.
The second option is to go to Settings> tap on Spectrum Cellular Plan Ready To be Installed> Follow Screen Instructions.
Install eSIM On Spectrum Mobile (iPhone 11/ XS/ XR/ SE)
. Tap on the Settings Icon and scroll down to Cellular.
. Select Add Cellular Plan and further select Enter Details Manually.
. In the SM-DP+ Address option, enter the following: cha.vzw.otgeuicc.com
. Leave the other options blank. Those are the Activation Code and Confirmation Code options.
. Select Next and follow the prompts to complete the process.
