US Cellular is one of the networks that supports Wi-Fi calling. The network supports Wi-Fi calling for customers on January 22, 2023.

Once you subscribe to any of the network’s plans and you have a supporting device, you can make Wi-Fi calls on the network. Also, the network supports Wi-Fi calling to international destinations.

If you want to know how to use the Wi-Fi calling feature on the US Cellular network, this post is the guide for you. Also, you will learn how to activate the Wi-Fi calling on both iPhone and Android Phones.

Wi-Fi calling is a Voice over Wi-Fi technology that allows customers on a network to make voice calls via a wireless network. In other words, the Wi-Fi calling option allows you to make calls, and send and receive texts via wireless network.

The Wi-Fi calling option comes in handy when there is no mobile network. For instance, if you are in a location where there is little or no mobile network coverage, Wi-Fi calling comes in handy.

US Cellular network has supported Wi-Fi calling technology since January 2023.

Another thing to know about the Wi-Fi calling feature is that your device has to support Wi-Fi calling for you to enjoy it. Some devices do not support wireless calls. So, you have to confirm your device supports it to activate it.

Wi-Fi Calling Not Working On US Cellular Network

As mentioned, the US Cellular network supports Wi-Fi calling. If the Wi-Fi calling option is not activating or working on your device, it means there is an issue. Here are some troubleshooting tips to fix the issue, and get the Wi-Fi calling option working:

a. Device Compatibility Issue:

Wi-Fi calling doesn’t work on all devices. The device has to be compatible to enable the Wi-Fi calling option. For instance, the US Cellular supports Wi-Fi calling on iPhone 6s and later models on iPhones. Check below for the list of Wi-Fi calling supported devices on the US Cellular network below.

b. Flight Mode Enabled:

The next thing to do is to confirm that the device is not on Airplane or Flight mode. Wi-Fi calling won’t work if your device is in Flight mode.

The Airplane icon will be visible in your device’s top bar if the Flight mode is enabled. Tap on the airplane icon to disable Flight Mode.

c. Connection Issue:

Also, it may be that the device is not connected to the wireless network. Check your device to ensure it is connected to the wireless network.

d. Outdated Firmware:

Also, it could be a software issue. It could be that your device firmware is out of date. If that is the issue, you have to download and install a more recent version of firmware on your device.

To update firmware on an IOS device, go to Settings> General> Software Update> Download Available Software version.
