Boost Mobile is one of the networks in the United States that support eSIM. The network only allows new customers to activate an eSIM on a new account.
If you are an existing customer with a physical SIM card, you can only transfer your physical SIM card to an eSIM.
The process is of two parts. First, you have to activate the eSIM online. After that, you install the eSIM on your device.
To activate the eSIM on Boost Mobile, connect your device to a wireless network. Visit the eSIM activation page on the Boost Mobile site. Follow the onscreen instructions to complete the process.

What Devices Does Boost Mobile Support On ESIM?
For now, Boost Mobile supports eSIM on iPhones. That means that the network doesn’t support eSIM on Android phones. If they do so anytime in the future, we will update this post to reflect the changes.

Prepare To Activate ESIM On Boost Mobile Network
There are some things you need to make the eSIM activation process seamless. Ensure you have the below ready before you start the activation process:
a. Wi-Fi Connection
Some of the activation process is completed online. So, you need an internet connection to complete the process. Unfortunately, you can’t use your phone’s mobile data until you complete the activation of the SIM card.
That means you have to connect the phone to wireless internet. The internet doesn’t have to be high speed, but stable enough to connect to the internet and complete the activation process.
It’s advisable to disconnect any other Apple device connected to the wireless network for the duration of the activation process.
b. Unlock Device
If you are bringing your phone to the Boost Mobile network, ensure that the phone is unlocked. You can’t activate a phone locked to another network on the Boost Mobile network.
Contact your current carrier to unlock your phone before activating a new eSIM on it. The phone has to meet the network’s unlock policy to qualify for a free unlock.
c. IMEI and IMEI2 Numbers
Boost Mobile will require you to input your phone’s IMEI and IMEI2 numbers during the activation process. So, you need to get the IMEI ready before you start the process. To find your device’s IMEI and IMEI2, dial *#06#.
d. Update Firmware
Finally, you have to update the firmware of your phone. The firmware powers major functionality on your phone. So, you have to ensure you download and install the latest version of firmware before you start the eSIM activation process.
Below is a brief guide on how to update the firmware on your phone.
. Go to Settings and select General.
. Tap on Software Update.
. Tap on the latest software version available and tap on Install Now.
. Wait for the installation process to complete and restart your phone.
How To Activate ESIM On Boost Mobile
As mentioned, the process is divided into two parts. The first part is to activate the eSIM online. After that, you install the eSIM on your device. Here is how to activate the eSIM online.
. Connect your device to a wireless connection.
. Visit the Boost Mobile eSIM activation page.
. Click on ‘New Customer Needing To Activate’.
. Further, click on ‘iPhone X or newer? Activate Now With eSIM.’
. Enter the IMEI you got earlier and click on Get Started.
. The next option is to opt for a new number or to transfer an existing number from another carrier.
. Click on Complete Activation.
. Finally enter the IMEI2 number to complete the activation process.
You can complete the activation process on another device as long as it is connected to a wireless network.
How To Install ESIM on Boost Mobile Network.
After the activation, follow the steps here to complete the installation process.
. Connect your phone to a wireless network.
. A push notification will pop up on the device. Tap on the notification and further tap on Continue to start the process.
. Go to Settings> Cellular to ensure that the installation is complete.
How Long Does It Take To Activate ESIM On Boost Mobile?
If you are activating a new number on the network, it takes 30 minutes to complete the activation. On the other hand, if you are transferring an existing number from another network, it can take up to 24 hours to activate it on the Boost Mobile network.
How To Transfer Physical SIM To ESIM On Boost Mobile
As an existing customer with a physical SIM card, you can transfer or convert the physical SIM to an eSIM.
To do this, call Boost Mobile customer support at 1-833-502-678. The support person will help you complete the transfer process. This process is for anyone that has an existing account on Boost Mobile.
