If your phone is locked to the Red Pocket network, it means that the device can only work on the network. The only way to use the phone on another network is to unlock the device.
Red Pocket will unlock your phone for free if it meets certain requirements. These are the requirements in the network’s unlock policy. You can request to unlock your phone without meeting the unlocking requirements, but you have to pay an unlocking fee.
The main requirement for unlocking a Red Pocket phone is that the phone has to be active on the network for at least 12 months.
Continue reading this post to learn other requirements for unlocking a Red Pocket locked phone and how to unlock the phone after it meets these requirements.
Red Pocket Unlock Policy In A Nutshell
Any phone you purchase directly on Red Pocket or any of its affiliates is most times locked to the network. This means that the device won’t work on any other network.
The exception is if the phone was marked as unlocked when you purchased it, and you paid the full price.
The network will unlock your phone for free once it meets the requirements in the unlock policy. Continue reading to learn the requirements to unlock your phone for free.
Red Pocket Unlock Policy Requirements
These are the requirements to unlock any device locked to the Red Pocket network:
. The phone must be active on the network for at least 12 months. Not just active, but with a paid subscription for the same period.
. The device must not be linked to any fraudulent activity.
. The device has to be in good working condition.
. The device must not be reported as stolen or lost at any point.
Red Pocket Six Months Unlock Policy
The general requirement of the Red Pocket unlock policy is that the device must be active for at least 12 months. However, the network has an exception for some devices that qualify for the six-month unlock policy.
This means that the network will unlock these devices for free within six months of being active on the network. Devices that qualify for the six-month unlock policy include:
. IPhone 12 series purchased on or before Nov/20/2020.
. Any iPhone purchased on March/18/2021.
Exceptions To the Red Pocket Unlock Policy
Red Pocket will unlock some phones for free even if the device doesn’t meet the unlock policy time frame. The network will make an exception for you if:
. You are deployed military personnel.
. The phone was tagged as unlocked and you paid the full retail price when you purchased the device.
Red Pocket Unlock Policy For Military Personnel
Red Pocket, like any other network, makes an exception for deployed military personnel.
The network will unlock your device without meeting the unlock requirements as long as you meet the following requirements:
. You must be deployed as military personnel.
. The device must be in good standing in the network in terms of paying bills when due.
. The device must not be linked to any fraudulent activity.
Once you meet all three requirements, contact Red Pocket customer support at 1-888-993-3888 and request an exception to unlock your device. You have to upload a copy of your deployment papers as proof.
How To Unlock a Red Pocket Phone?
After your phone meets the unlock requirements, you have to contact Red Pocket to unlock your device.
Some networks will automatically unlock your device remotely once it meets the unlock requirements. Unfortunately, the Red Pocket network doesn’t work that way.
Send an email to [email protected] and request a device unlock once your device meets the unlock requirements.
