Spectrum Mobile runs its trade-in program in collaboration with Assurant. How the program works is that you complete an online evaluation for the device to determine if the device is eligible for the program. The evaluation also helps you know the trade-in value of the device.
After that, you ship back the device to Assurant. The Company will in turn complete a final check for the device. Finally, you get the trade-in value as credit in your account.

Your device needs to have some value to qualify for the trade-in program. So, the device has to at least be in good working condition to qualify. Below are some of the requirements a device must meet to qualify for the trade-in program:

How To Find The Trade-in Value Of Your Device On Spectrum Mobile?
Spectrum Mobile gives you an idea of the trade-in value of your device. It’s left to you to trade in the device based on that value or seek a better value elsewhere.
Here are the steps to follow to find out the current trade-in value for your device:
. Visit the Online Appraisal page on Spectrum Mobile site.
. Select the Carrier/ Make/ Model/ Storage of your device.
. Click on Continue to get to the next page.
. Enter the device’s IMEI number. Dial *#06# on your device to get this number.
. Continue with the onscreen instructions to complete the appraisal process.
. You will receive an email from Spectrum Mobile/ Assurant on the trade-in value of your device.
Preparing Your Device For Trade-in At Spectrum Mobile
After completing the online appraisal process, the next step is to prepare the device for shipping. You can’t just ship your device with all the information and data in the device. You have to clear off the data.
Check below for steps you have to take to prepare your device for trade-in:
. Back-Up All Information
It is most likely that you have all your essential information on your smartphone. That includes your contacts, images, audio, video, and doc files. It is advisable to back up the files.
You can do this on a cloud-based storage service or with your memory card or external drive.
. Delete All Personal Information
Next is to delete all personal information on the device. Log out from all platforms and delete all account details. Also, disable features like iCloud if you are using an Apple phone. In addition, check for tracking and locking apps on your device and disable those.
. Reset Device

How To Trade-in Device At Spectrum Mobile
During the online appraisal, Spectrum Mobile will ask if you want to proceed with the trade-in. If you select YES/ PROCEED, you will receive an email. The email will contain further instructions on how and where to return your device.
Follow the instructions in the email and package your device as directed. Print out the shipping label for returns and ship the device to the shipping address.
Once Assurant receives the device, it will do a second evaluation of the device. That is the physical evaluation to see if the device matches the online appraisal you completed earlier.
How To Receive Payments For Trade-in At Spectrum Mobile
The trade-in value will be credited to your Spectrum Mobile account. As mentioned earlier, you can apply for the credit as part of the payment for a new device or to clear upcoming monthly bills.
Spectrum Mobile Trade-in Deal For Existing Customers
Spectrum Mobile offers to give an extra $100 to customers who trade in their devices on the network. This is in addition to the trade-in value of the device. To qualify, you have to apply for credit to buy and activate a new device from Spectrum Mobile.
