Looking for a guide on how to activate an eSIM on the Optus network? This post is the guide you need.
Optus is one of the Telecoms in Australia that uses eSIM technology. The network allows both new and existing customers to use the eSIM technology and plan.
If you are an existing customer, you simply have to transfer your physical SIM to eSIM. Also, you can transfer your number from another network to Optus eSIM.
Thankfully, the network has made the ESIM installation and activation process seamless. You can complete the entire process on your Optus Mobile app.
This post will guide you on the entire steps of how to activate the eSIM on the Optus network. Before then, let’s check some of the things you need to get ready before you start the activation process.
Getting Ready To Activate eSIM On Optus Network
These are some of the things you need to make your eSIM activation process seamless on the network:
a. Stable Internet
You can’t complete the activation process with your mobile data. So, you have to connect your device to wireless internet for the process. Ensure you have a stable Wi-Fi internet to complete the process.
b. Check Device Compatibility
Your phone must support eSIM to complete the activation process. To check if your device supports eSIM, simply check the product manual. The manual will always outline if the device supports eSIM or not. Another way to do this is to Google the feature of the device.
c. Payment Option
You will need to opt for an eSIM plan during the activation process. So, you need to have a payment option available. It can be your Debit/ Credit card or any other form of payment of your choice.
d. Update Phone Firmware
Firmware is the software that powers most of the functionality on your device. It is advisable to update the firmware version on your device before you activate it.

. Go to Settings and scroll down to About Phone.
. Tap on Update (Software Update).
