a. Xfinity Voice Activation
The voice activation method involves contacting the Xfinity Customer support team to guide you through the activation process. Before you contact the customer support person, you need to set up the device connection first. Follow the steps below to complete the setup process.
. Locate the coaxial cable outlet in your home.
. Plug in one end of the coaxial cable to the coaxial outlet and the other end to your device. That is the Xfinity gateway.
. Next is to plug in the power cords and turn on your devices.
After the setup, find your device’s CM-MAC code. The CM-MAC code is the 12-digit attached to your modem or Xfinity gateway.
With the details handy, contact an Xfinity technical support person at 800-934-6489. The tech support person will request for certain details from you to complete the activation process. The voice activation process takes 5 to 10 minutes to complete.
After that, you should be able to manage your account, set up extra control in your account, and connect your device to the network.
b. Xfinity On-site Activation
If you don’t have a smartphone to complete the activation process on the app, you can do so on the Xfinity site using your Personal Computer.

. Create an ‘Xfinity ID’ and ‘Password’.
. Verify and log into your account.
. Click the user icon on the top left of your account page to see details of the devices connected to the account.
. Select the device you want to activate to start the activation process.
. Part of the activation process is to upgrade the device firmware. During the firmware upgrade process, you will notice the orange light on your modem blinking. This process may take up to 15 minutes.
