If you are looking to port your number from Mint Mobile to another network, there are details you need to provide your new carrier. The details are your Mint Mobile account number and Security PIN.
Any carrier you are looking to port your number will request these details to commence the port-out process.
This post will guide you on how to get your Mint Mobile account number and PIN to start your number port-out process. Before then, let’s explain why the Mint Mobile account number is essential.
What Is Mint Mobile Account Number
The Mint Mobile account number is the account number unique to your account. Mint Mobile assigns an account number to all customers. The number is essential because you will need it to pay for a third-party bill and make major changes to your Mint Mobile account.
Also, you need it to port your number from the Mint Mobile network to any other carrier.
How To Get The Mint Mobile Account Number
For most carriers, you can find the account number online or on the monthly bill. But that is not the same for the Mint Mobile network. You have to go through some hoops to get your Mint Mobile account number.
Before now, you have to contact Mint Mobile customer support to get your account details. This process does take time because I spent more than 15 minutes waiting the last time I tried to generate mine.
Thankfully, there is an easier method to complete the process. Follow the steps below to get your account number instantly:
. Visit the app store on your device and download the ‘Mint Mobile App’.
. Enter your ‘User ID’ and ‘Password’ to sign into your account.
. Scroll down to ‘Support Tab’ and select ‘Start a Conversation’.
. Key in ‘Account Number’ in the chat space and send the message.
. The ‘Fox Chat Box’ will request if you want to ‘Port In’ or ‘Port Out’. Select ‘Port Out’.
. The Bot chat will place you in a queue to chat with a Mint Mobile customer support agent.
. You may have to wait for a couple of minutes to get connected with a customer support agent.
. Once you are connected, request your ‘Account Number’.
. To verify your ID, the customer support agent will send an Authentication Code to your number.
. Copy and paste the code into the chat box. This completes your account verification process.
. The support agent will share your Account number.
How To Get Mint Mobile Transfer PIN
The transfer PIN is your account security PIN. You also need the detail to complete the port out process. The process of getting the PIN is the same as that of getting your account number.
It is advisable to request your account number and PIN at the same time. If you have the account number and not the PIN, follow the steps below to generate your transfer PIN:
. Launch your Mint Mobile app.
. Enter your ‘User ID’ and ‘Password’ to sign into your account.
. Scroll down to ‘Support Tab’ and select ‘Start a Conversation’.
. Key in ‘Transfer PIN’ in the chat space and send the message.
. The ‘Chat Box’ will request if you want to ‘Port In’ or ‘Port Out’. Select ‘Port Out’.
. The Bot chat will place you in a queue to chat with a Mint Mobile customer support agent.
. You may have to wait for a couple of minutes to get connected with a customer support agent.
. Once you are connected, request your ‘Transfer PIN.
. To verify your ID, the customer support agent will send an Authentication Code to your number.
. Copy and paste the code into the chat box. This completes your account verification process.
. The support agent will share your Account number.
Viola!!! You have your account number and PIN.
